Get Camy’s free short story, “The Sushi Toss”

If you’ve read my Contemporary Christian Romance novel, Sushi for One? , you might enjoy this fun short story I wrote that takes place right after the book ends. If you haven’t read Sushi for One? , no worries, you won’t be lost. This is a little vignette that happens at a wedding. I wrote this story during my nightmarish years as a single woman at my relatives’ weddings. And yes, the story is based off of a true story (mine). Click on this BookFunnel link to get your free copy of my short story, “The Sushi Toss”! Protection for Hire and Sushi series ebooks only $6.99 each!

Okay, so I’m not the most observant person, but I also don’t often go on Amazon to look at my books. I admit that I had a freakish addiction curiosity when I was first published, but then I got busy writing more books and now I only check Amazon occasionally rather than once an hour. So I didn’t notice until yesterday that the ebook versions of Protection for Hire and all my Sushi series books from Zondervan are now only $6.99! And not just on Kindle, but on Nook, iTunes, and Kobo, too! The last time I had looked, they were all still $9.99 or so. ( A Dangerous Stage is $8.99, which is still cheaper than the print copy price, $9.99. ) So if you didn’t have a copy of my Zondervan backlist and want one, $7 isn’t a bad price to pay for each of them, right? Read the first chapter of Single Sashimi!

Captain's Log, Stardate 08.11.2008 I now have the first chapter of Single Sashimi up on my website! You can go to my Sushi Series page , scroll down, and click on the link to download the .pdf file, Or Click here to download the first chapter of Single Sashimi directly. Special bonus material: Okay, well, not really, but here’s a little something interesting for you guys. If you bought the first printing of Only Uni , there was the first chapter of Single Sashimi at the end. In that chapter, a certain "happy event" occurs for Trish and Spenser. Well, that first chapter had to be sent to print in Only Uni before the final edits were done on Single Sashimi , and when edits were being completed, my editors decided to nix the "happy event." I totally understand why they decided to cut it—the book was a bit "busy" with it in, and it affected the pacing. Following up on the "happy event" throughout Single Sashimi also made the book too long an

Fool For You by Nichole Nordeman

Captain’s Log, Stardate 04.25.2008 Some of the worship scenes in book 2 of my Sushi series were inspired by this song. Trish is torn between her desire for abandoned worship and the censure (real or perceived) of others around her, something I’ve struggled with myself. Trish is braver than I am, though. It was fun to write these scenes. Fool For You By Nichole Nordeman There are times when faith and common sense do not align, when hardcore evidence of you is hard to find. I am silenced in the face of argumentative debate, And it's a long hill, it's a lonely climb. ’Cause they want proof, They want proof of all these mysteries I claim, ’Cause only fools would want to chant a dead man's name. Maybe it's true. Yeah, but I would be a fool for you all because you asked me to. A simpleton who's seeming naive, I do believe You came and made Yourself a fool for me. I admit that in my darkest hours I've asked what if, What if we created some kind of man-made faith like t

Pictures from a Chinese banquet

Captain's Log, Stardate 04.16.2008 In Sushi for One? , the first scene is a “Red Egg and Ginger” Chinese banquet. At the end of the book, the last scene is in a Chinese wedding banquet. Both types of banquets serve similar foods. There are some dishes that absolutely must be served at one or the other—for example, when Captain Caffeine and I got married , my Chinese father-in-law-to-be said we had to have some sort of chicken dish for good luck or good fortune or something like that. The Captain and I went to the wedding of one of his cousins about a month ago, and it was traditional Chinese banquet style food. I thought I’d share the more interesting dishes. WARNING: NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART OR CHICKEN LOVERS. First off, the fried rice dish. This was totally yummy! The rice was served or steamed in banana leaves, which gave the rice this absolutely fabulous fragrance and flavor. Isn’t it beautiful, too? This banquet happened to be heavy on the seafood. Which was probably good, b
