I finished writing Sushi and Suspicions and turned it in! To celebrate, I ate my favorite peach jelly from Minamoto Kichoan ! I was a bit surprised to realize at the end of the book that there wasn’t as much romance as in some of my other books, maybe because there were a lot of characters in this book compared to other romantic suspense novels I’ve written. Sushi and Suspicions will be releasing in June in the multi-author box set Summer Suspicions . At the moment, I’m reading the Chinese fantasy series, A Thousand Li by Tao Wong, set in a version of historical China. It’s what’s called a “Cultivation” novel where the character does some woo-woo stuff and moves energy around in his body and eventually is able to do some cool magic. I didn’t expect to like this series so much! The first book is a little weaker compared to the next several volumes, but it’s still very enjoyable, and I was hooked pretty easily. I’m listening to it on audiobook, and the narrator, Travis Baldree, is AMAZING! He does the Chinese names really well, and the different voices are fantastic. What are you reading today?

I’ve actually had a pretty terrible week in terms of my health. I don’t know what I ate, but my IBS has been horrible. However, I’m thankful that I wasn’t in pain all day and that it was only short bouts throughout the day. Every so often I’d have some bout of pain and nausea that lasted about 30 minutes. But it was very hard to concentrate. All too often I’d be in the middle of writing when the pain hit, which derailed me entirely. Since I couldn’t get much writing done, I did a lot of marketing work, which requires less concentration. I can also stop and start my marketing work without problems, whereas it’s hard for me to jump in and out of writing prose. As you can see, I haven’t made much progress on Lady Wynwood’s Spies, volume 7: Spinster , and you might notice my Outlining progress has actually gone backwards. That’s because I discovered a plot problem and I’ve had to go back to my outline to try to fix it. Please pray my IBS gets better so I can get more writing done!
