Camy's Sonoma fictional family tree

My Sonoma series started with 3 books starring the 3 Grant sisters in Sonoma. Book 4 starred Nathan, who was a minor character in book 3, and then I wrote Necessary Proof , which stars Jane, who was a minor character in book 2 and a cousin to the Grant sisters. In the next book, Unshakeable Pursuit , I brought in the Whelan family, Jane’s cousins who are also second cousins to the Grant sisters. It was rather confusing to come up with the family tree! The way I have it set up, the Whelan siblings’ mom, Emma Whelan, is sister to Jane Lawton’s mom, Eleanor Lawton. The Grant sisters’ mom and her sister, Aunt Becca, were first cousins to Emma Whelan and Eleanor Lawton. I thought it might be fun for you guys to see my created family tree, so here it is! It’s rather large, so click on the image to see the larger version.

Meet the hero and heroine from Stalker in the Shadows

When I write, I usually come up with the characters in a story first. Sometimes I feel a bit like Zeus, whose daughter jumped out of his head fully grown—the characters start walking and talking in my brain as I develop the story. When I start writing the manuscript, I will often pick an actor or actress to use for when I visualize the characters. It makes it a bit easier when I have to describe them, although sometimes I have a difficult time finding just the right “look” for my characters. I recently unearthed my copy of an old blog post that had been taken down from the original website. I wrote the blog post when I was writing my Christian Romantic Suspense, Stalker in the Shadows , but it’s never been posted on my blog, so I thought I’d repost it here: I just saw an article about actor Karl Urban, and drooled a little over his yummy photo: Karl Urban is the actor I envisioned for my hero, Shaun O’Neill, in Stalker in the Shadows , except that Shaun has very blue eyes an...

Unshakeable Pursuit has a new cover!

I know I just posted about Necessary Proof , but I also have a new cover for Unshakeable Pursuit ! Isn’t it awesome???? I absolutely love this cover! This one was also done by Dineen Miller . If you got it, be sure to update your copy on your computer/ebook reader so you can get the new cover! If you haven’t, it’s only $2.99. Here’s the back cover description: A doctor and a nurse, both survivors of their painful pasts, go on the run from Asian hitmen with a secretive agenda. A Christian Romantic Suspense novella Book #4.2 in the Sonoma series Doctor Geoffrey Whelan was in Japan when the tsunami hit, killing his cousin and grandmother. He has worked in medical missions for years to assuage his survivor’s guilt, and now that he’s back in Sonoma to help his family, he can’t figure out why he still feels so wounded and God feels so far away. Then a mysterious young woman warns him that he and nurse Maylin Kinley are in mortal danger. Maylin notices that Geoffrey is not the sa...

Theme song for STALKER IN THE SHADOWS

I’m at the Love Inspired Authors blog today talking about my “theme song” for when I was writing Stalker in the Shadows . Click here to read the blog post!

A page from Stalker in the Shadows

In case you haven’t read it yet, here’s a page from the book to whet your appetite. I absolutely love Shaun O’Neill--I modeled him after actor Karl Urban except with very blue eyes and blond short hair. (photo from Flixster.com) From the back cover: "Consider this a warning." Lately, nurse Monica Grant feels she's being watched. Followed. And then she receives a threatening letter—accompanied by a dead snake. If she doesn't stop her plans to open a free children's clinic, she'll end up dead, too. Terrified, Monica turns to former lawman Shaun O'Neill—who believes the same madman murdered his own sister five years before. She understands how much it means to the handsome, heart-guarding man to save her—and her dream. Even if he has to lure a deadly stalker out of the shadows—straight toward himself. Excerpt: Monica nodded, but they were interrupted by a bustling at the front of the restaurant as her aunt, Becca Itoh, hurried into the dining room. ...

Narrow Escape manuscript is done!

I just sent it off to my editor in New York! Narrow Escape is my fourth Love Inspired Suspense novel and will be out in Spring 2013. It stars Nathan Fischer, one of the minor characters from Stalker in the Shadows . I’m excited because I think the book turned out really well. There’s lots of kissing, anyway. :)

Catch-up and Prayer

Captain's Log, Stardate 03.23.2011 So as you can guess, I’ve been pretty busy. I recently detailed this all for my friend Meredith Efken when she called me the other day, so here it is in all its goriness: 1) I finished a book January 10th, another book (number 15) in the Patchwork Mysteries series by Guideposts. The books are written by several authors and only available to the Guideposts Book Club right now—you can’t buy them in stores—so I haven’t said much about them, but I’ve been having a lot of fun writing them since they’re cozy mysteries, and I’m a huge Agatha Christie fan. 2) On January 11th, I finished the Art Fact Sheet for Stalker in the Shadows , my next Love Inspired Suspense, coming out in spring 2012. I’m excited about it—it’s about Monica, the third Grant sister (you can read about her sisters Naomi and Rachel in Deadly Intent and Formula for Danger ). 3) On January 16th, I finished self-edits for my fourth Sushi series book, Weddings and Wasabi , and sen...
