Reading challenge - a book with Hawaii in it

I’m doing a reading challenge for the month of August on the Save the Date Facebook reader group ! The challenge is to read a book with Hawaii in it, whether it’s set in Hawaii, or one of the characters is from Hawaii, or Hawaii is just mentioned in the book. Come join in the discussion !

My new Facebook group!

So, um, I started a Facebook Group ! Why? I’m not really sure. Actually, it just seemed a good way to interact with people on Facebook. People can post their own questions and discussions in the group, whereas if they post it on my Facebook author wall, I’m usually the only one who sees it. So please join my group and say hi! Otherwise I’ll just be talking to myself. Which isn’t anything new, but doesn’t make people think I’m sane.

Grace Livingston Hill romances free to read online

I wanted to update my old post on Grace Livingston Hill romances because now there are tons more options for you to be able to read her books for free online! I’m a huge Grace Livingston Hill fan. Granted, not all her books resonate with me, but there are a few that I absolutely love, like The Enchanted Barn and Crimson Roses . And the best part is that she wrote over 100 books and I haven’t yet read them all! When I have time, I like to dive into a new GLH novel. I like the fact that most of them are romances, and I especially appreciate that they all have strong Christian themes. Occasionally the Christian content is a little heavy-handed for my taste, but it’s so interesting to see what the Christian faith was like in the early part of the 20th century. These books are often Cinderella-type stories or A Little Princess (Frances Hodgson Burnett) type stories, which I love. And the best part is that they’re all set in the early 1900s, so the time period is absolutely fasci...

Kisses galore

I wrote a post about writing a kiss on my Story Sensei blog, and I ended up listing almost all of the kisses I’ve written in my published books—and since I write romance, it’s a lot of kissing! The post is aimed at writers, but it might be fun for a reader who’d like to read all those kisses, so check it out here .

You are not alone -- "Hills and Valleys"

Lately I was really impacted by a song I happened to hear on Air1 Radio when we were driving to church. The song is “Hills and Valleys” by Tauren Wells. (Man that guy has an awesome voice!) I’m pretty sure I heard the song before Sunday, but this time the song was really catchy and stuck with me, so I bought it on iTunes right away. The lyrics are simple but so powerful, especially because the one thing I want all my readers to know is that no matter what happens to you, no matter where you’ve gone, Jesus loves you and you are not alone. I've walked among the shadows You wiped my tears away And I've felt the pain of heartbreak And I've seen the brighter days And I've prayed prayers to Heaven From my lowest place And I have held Your blessings God, You give and take away No matter what I have, Your grace is enough No matter where I am, I'm standing in Your love On the mountains, I will bow my life To the One who set me there In the valley, I wil...

Novella collections?

I’m over at ChristiansRead asking questions about novella collections . Do you like reading them or do you prefer full length novels? What’s the last novella collection you bought? What’s the last novella collection you read?

Help me with my next romantic suspense novella

I’m going to write a romantic suspense novella and I’m still in the planning stages. For those of you who’ve read my Sonoma series, what would you like to see? Any characters you want me to write about? If I use your idea, I’ll include you in the book dedication!
