I totally love the TV show Chuck. Captain Caffeine and I are completely hooked.
















I think it’s because the main character, Chuck, is such a geek. I love geek heroes. Maybe because I’m very happily married to one. I like the combination of smart and a little unsure.


(Okay, I also admit I think Adam Baldwin is terrific and will watch anything he’s in. He was hilarious in Firefly, and he's just as funny in Chuck.)














I like how Chuck, Super-geek, likes Sarah, kick-butt CIA agent. I’m rooting for the underdog to get the pretty girl. He deserves her! He’s sweet and smart and sensitive.

I just realized that I write a lot of geek heroes. I think Drake in book 3 of my Sushi series is the first truly Alpha male hero I’ve written yet. Even the hero in one of my old (unpublished) manuscripts, a romantic suspense, is a more withdrawn type rather than an aggressive Alpha male.


I love geeks! Geeks rule!

How about you? What kinds of heroes do you like in your stories? (If I like your ideas, I might ask to use them in a future story.)

Have you watched "Pushing Daisies"? If you like kind of geeky heroes you might like that show. :) Lee Pace is HILARIOUS!

Camy, I love Chuck too. And the actor who plays the character of Chuck is a strong Christian, which makes him all the more cool.

Hmm, I guess I tend to write more sensitive men. I like geeks too, maybe because I was one in high school. Or was I considered a nerd because I was smart without the whole computer/science aspect? I guess I'll never know. :)

We love Chuck here, too. It's such a funny show. Great to here the actor playing Chuck is a Christan.

I don't think I have a favorite type of hero. I like the geeks as well as the alpha males.

I love geeks! Love my geeky husband... and both of us get a bang out of Chuck. I like shows (and books!) that are a mixture of comedy and drama.

I couldn't help myself! I just dropped by for a quick visit to your blog, and I saw Chuck and had to give my two cents. :) I adore Chuck! The show is such a riot, and like you love to see the geek get the girl. :) I confess that I started watching because the guy who plays Bryce Larkin was on another show I really enjoyed: Traveler. But Chuck (and Adam Baldwin's witty retorts) kept me coming back week after week, and I'm addicted now. Glad to know I'm not alone in loveing this great show! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Chuck, umhum. The best show to come out of Hollywood in a long time. Chuck is a combination of two guys I know. One looks like him, and the other (my nephew, Gabe) acts like him! I always look forward to Monday nights. As for your question? So far I've written about a former movie star, Who's love interest had a crush on him back in the day of his television series. I had Tom Selleck in mind for that one. I Love Magnum! TaTa, Pam

Ok, I'm a little late posting here and Chuck has yet to make it down under but I'll be looking out for it :)

While I love a great alpha male I also love to see a different male hero. One that might not be a total babe, wealthy and perfect. Maddox in Splitting Harriet by Tamara Leigh is a great example and karen Ball managed to pull it off brilliantly in What Lies Within - Rafe is now one of my all time favourites. He is an alpha male in the sense he was in the Special Forces but he was injured and now walks with a cane and has become a coffee barista! Strength and vulnerablity - what more could you ask for - LOL!!!

Captain’s Log, Stardate 03.14.2005 Knee update: I went to the doctor today for a checkup, and saw his assistant. I’ve been concerned because there’s still inflammation in my knee joint, and it’s been almost 4 months since the surgery. She said she’d talk to the doctor about it tomorrow and call me. Sometimes he suggests laying off the PT to see if that causes the inflammation to go away, but I don’t know if that will work because lately I’ve been pretty active outside of PT. At PT today, the therapist did ultrasound and some sort of electrical current on the joint. Hopefully that will make the inflammation start to go down. I’ll know by tomorrow, probably. Writing: Mt. Hermon conference starts this Friday! On Thursday night, I’ll be at the Santana Row Borders bookstore to help out (and hopefully learn a bit, too) at a booksigning for several of the ACFW authors who are attending Mt. Hermon . New book idea a la Captain Caffeine

Captain's Log, Stardate 04.14.2009 So my husband, Captain Caffeine, had lunch with a few friends a few days ago. And they asked about my writing, and if I’d been on Oprah yet. (Yeah, right) They then discussed NYT bestselling books, and why can’t Camy write a NYT bestseller. (Sure, let me just open a vein over a blank page and it’ll come right out.) So Captain Caffeine came home with ideas for my new NYT bestselling novel. First it starts with vampires, because Twilight is so hot. But not just any vampires. This one’s an Amish vampire. And he’s not just an Amish vampire, he’s a cop in disguise, infiltrating the Amish community to protect a witness. (Hmm, that storyline sounds familiar ...) But wait! There’s more! Grace Livingston Hill romances free to read online

I wanted to update my old post on Grace Livingston Hill romances because now there are tons more options for you to be able to read her books for free online! I’m a huge Grace Livingston Hill fan. Granted, not all her books resonate with me, but there are a few that I absolutely love, like The Enchanted Barn and Crimson Roses . And the best part is that she wrote over 100 books and I haven’t yet read them all! When I have time, I like to dive into a new GLH novel. I like the fact that most of them are romances, and I especially appreciate that they all have strong Christian themes. Occasionally the Christian content is a little heavy-handed for my taste, but it’s so interesting to see what the Christian faith was like in the early part of the 20th century. These books are often Cinderella-type stories or A Little Princess (Frances Hodgson Burnett) type stories, which I love. Captain's Log, Supplemental Remember that romantic suspense proposal I blogged about earlier? Well, it just sold to Steeple Hill’s Love Inspired Suspense line! I am so jazzed! I am beyond jazzed! Tabi socks, part deux

Captain's Log, Stardate 07.25.2008 (If you're on Ravelry, friend me! I'm camytang.) I made tabi socks again! (At the bottom of the pattern is the calculation for the toe split if you're not using the same weight yarn that I did for this pattern (fingering). I also give an example from when I used worsted weight yarn with this pattern.) I used Opal yarn, Petticoat colorway.
