Book review – PETTICOAT RANCH

Captain's Log, Stardate 04.04.2008 Petticoat Ranch By Mary Connealy From the back cover: Sophie Edwards is doing just fine, until a strange-yet oddly familiar-man rides into her life, insisting on rescuing her and her four daughters. Can she find a way to love a headstrong mountain man? When Clay McClellan discovers his brother has been murdered, he's bent on finding the killers and seeing them properly hung. But first his Christian duty demands that he marry his sister-in-law. After all, Sophie needs someone to protect her - right? Faith and love help unruly wed newlyweds find common ground and a chance at love on the Texas frontier. Camy here: I have to say upfront, I normally don’t care for Western historical romances. They just don’t float my boat. However, this Western historical romance was a lot of fun, because the female characters were awesome. Sophie and her girls are sensible, tough, capable, skilled, and smart. They are some of the best historical romance heroines I...

My dingbattiness is out in full force

Captain's Log, Supplemental So, you all know I can be a dingbat, right? (No comments from you, Captain Caffeine!) So I went to get gas a couple days ago. I was impressed I didn’t cause an explosion or something like that. But somewhere in between the pump and ... oh, yesterday around seven p.m., I lost my credit card. I cannot believe I lost my card. I guess it says something about me that I use it so often, I notice it missing a bare 24 hours after I last used it. I think it’s somewhere in my car, but I’ve searched and can’t find it. I also checked online and there’s no strange charges on it, so I don’t think it’s stolen, but we called and canceled the card anyway. What is it about losing a credit card that makes me feel like such a dummy? Like my husband can’t trust me out of the house anymore or something stupid like that. How about you? Have you lost a credit card or had it stolen?

Sunday Prayer

Captain's Log, Stardate 03.30.2008 Leave any prayer requests in the comments and I’ll be praying this week. You don’t have to be Christian to leave a prayer request. If you’d rather not advertise to everyone on the blogosphere, just leave an unspoken prayer request or e-mail me. If I forgot your prayer request, email me. Not to be mean or anything, but if you don't email me or comment to update your prayer request, I'm only going to pray ONE Sunday. I’m trying something new with my Sunday Prayer. I’m really bad about doing it on Sunday , so I’ll be updating it during the week. Dear Lord, thank you for all you do for us. I pray for complete healing for Malia, Helen, Kristy, Colleen, and Sharon. I lift up Case and his family to you. Be with Kristin, who just lost her Grandmother. Be with Anonymous’s Masters program decision. Thank you for giving so many opportunities, but please give clear direction about where you want Anonymous to go. Please give comfort and assurance of yo...
