Lady Wynwood #7 early release Kickstarter

I worked on my first Kickstarter and it got approved! It’s for the Special Edition Hardcover of Lady Wynwood’s Spies, volume 1: Archer and the release of Lady Wynwood’s Spies, volume 7: Spinster. I contacted my graphic designer about the Special Edition Hardcover of vol. 1: Archer—it’s going to be SO beautiful! The Kickstarter focuses on the Special Edition Hardcover, but it’ll also include vol. 7: Spinster so that it’ll sort of be like a launch day for vol. 7, too. A third special thing that’ll be in the Kickstarter is Special Edition Paperbacks of all the books in the series. They won’t be available in stores, just in the Kickstarter (and later, from my website, and also in my Patreon book box tiers if I decide to do them). The Kickstarter is not live yet, but you can follow it to be alerted when it has launched. (You may need to create a free Kickstarter account.) Follow Camy’s Kickstarter

Lady Wynwood's Spies #6 cover character

The model on the cover of Lady Wynwood’s Spies, volume 6: Martyr is the same as book 1, my character Phoebe. Her real name is Chelsea, and if you’d like, you can see the original stock photo here . I chose this stock photo because the book is essentially about Phoebe, but this pose is different from book 1, where she’s staring at the camera. I wanted to show a bit of “departure” for Phoebe to reflect some of the events in the book. A lot of things change for her, and she’ll never be the same. I was also really excited when I found the stock photo of Bianca’s notebook for the background. It was exactly how I pictured a leather-bound notebook would look like. I also admit that I kind of got lost down a rabbit-hole when I was searching because there were so many neat leather notebooks! My cover designer found the stock photo of the vial of Jack’s potion. She didn’t even have to change the color of the liquid because she found a vial of red liquid, which was perfect. Both the noteboo...

Trunk of Scrolls Christian young adult historical fiction

My friend Darlene has a Kickstarter for her exciting historical novel and it’s got amazing rewards! On her higher tiers, she’s offering handmade leather book covers made by a Turkish leatherworker as well as leather bookmarks. I backed her Kickstarter and can’t wait to read her book. The Kickstarter ends tomorrow so hurry to back it before then! Here’s the back cover description: A ruined life. A dangerous conspiracy. An unforgettable journey. A.D. 526 When an apocalyptic earthquake shatters their stable world, young nobleman Marcellus leaps into a perilous adventure sword-in-hand. He must brave the wilds of the Byzantine Empire, protecting his beautiful neighbor and her siblings on their journey to find their missing father and recover the family’s lost fortune. He takes his beloved to her betrothed, the legendary and infamous Captain Belisarius. Little do they know they embark on a quest that will determine the fate of empires. Armed with a relic tooth and ancient scrolls, th...

Writing Progress: Sushi and Suspicions

At the moment, I’m working on two books at once—the 7th volume of my Christian Regency romantic suspense Lady Wynwood’s Spies series , and also Sushi and Suspicions , a Christian contemporary romantic suspense which will be releasing in June in the multi-author box set Summer Suspicions. I finally finished outlining Sushi and Suspicions and worked on chapter one. If you belong to my email newsletter, you’ll have read a sneak peek last week. Join my Camy Tang newsletter today!

Get my short story, White Soup, FREE!

“White Soup” is a short story set in my Christian Contemporary Romance Sushi series. It takes place after the events in Weddings and Wasabi . Originally this short story was in the anthology A Recipe for Romance which is now out of print. But now, "White Soup" is available free if you sign up for my newsletter! What’s up with the white soup? Originally, I heard about white soup from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (FYI, my Sushi series short story is NOT a Regency romance). Mr. Bingley is talking about the ball he plans to host at Netherfield: “If you mean Darcy," cried her brother, "he may go to bed, if he chooses, before it begins—but as for the ball, it is quite a settled thing; and as soon as Nicholls has made white soup enough, I shall send round my cards.” I researched white soup and made it, then blogged about it here . But then I made the recipe again, simplified and a bit more hearty, but definitely not what Bingley served for dinner, and I b...

Isaiah 12:2

Isaiah 12:2 Dear Lord, Thank you that you are my salvation. You save me from anything that would harm me. Your love for me and presence with me helps me to live without fear. Thank you for defending me from harm and helping me to grow stronger so that I can face the world unafraid.

Camy's Sonoma fictional family tree

My Sonoma series started with 3 books starring the 3 Grant sisters in Sonoma. Book 4 starred Nathan, who was a minor character in book 3, and then I wrote Necessary Proof , which stars Jane, who was a minor character in book 2 and a cousin to the Grant sisters. In the next book, Unshakeable Pursuit , I brought in the Whelan family, Jane’s cousins who are also second cousins to the Grant sisters. It was rather confusing to come up with the family tree! The way I have it set up, the Whelan siblings’ mom, Emma Whelan, is sister to Jane Lawton’s mom, Eleanor Lawton. The Grant sisters’ mom and her sister, Aunt Becca, were first cousins to Emma Whelan and Eleanor Lawton. I thought it might be fun for you guys to see my created family tree, so here it is! It’s rather large, so click on the image to see the larger version.

Lamentations 3:57-58

Lamentations 3:57-58 Dear God, Thank you so much for calling to me, for noticing me among the billions of other people on the earth. Thank you that I can trust you and you can take away my fear, because I know you will hold me up. Thank you for redeeming me, for sending your son to take away my sins, enabling me to be your child.

Aya's Fingerless Mitts knitting pattern

In Lady Wynwood’s Spies, volume 6: Martyr , Aya lends Keriah a pair of fingerless gloves since the room is so cold. I had a stitch pattern in mind, but not a yarn to use, so it took me a little while to knit this. I eventually decided to use a yarn that isn’t anything like the yarns available in the Regency, but it’s such a pretty yarn I didn’t care! The yarn is a Knit Picks Special Reserve yarn called Japanese Color Twist. I know that the colors were dyed by Japanese artisan dyers. It looks like they dyed the wool roving, and then the roving was spun into the yarn creating this wild colorway. The name of the colorway is Harajuku, which made me laugh since it’s exactly what I’d expect from the Land of Cosplay. The lace pattern is named “#79 Kind of Wave Running Across (very pretty for a purse),” originally published on pages 171-172 in The Lady's Assistant, volume 2 by Mrs. Jane Gaugain, published in 1842. ( You can download a scanned .pdf of the 5th edition of the book,...

Lady Wynwood's Spies #5 cover character

The model on the cover of Lady Wynwood’s Spies, volume 5: Prisoner is Laura. Her real name is Tanya, and if you’d like, you can see the original stock photo here . I chose this stock photo because I thought Tanya looked mature enough in this particular photo to be Lady Wynwood. She’s only 40 years old in the story, after all. Then my cover designer did some woo-woo magic with Adobe Photoshop and aged her a little more so that she looked closer to 40 than 30. She also added the streak of white at Laura’s left temple. The house in the background is actually a picture I took on a trip to England. It is Breadsall Priory in Derbyshire, which is now a country club. When I was writing the hunting lodge in the book, I pictured it as a smaller version of Breadsall Priory, and I set it in the middle of a forest instead of the priory’s lush grounds. I think my cover designer did a great job! Buy Lady Wynwood’s Spies, volume 5: Prisoner

Lady Wynwood's Spies #4 cover character

This is the cover for book #4 in my series, Lady Wynwood’s Spies, volume 4: Betrayer. I loved how my graphic designer had the contrast of the fuchsia background and the green vest. You can see the original stock photo here . This was one of my favorite photos to pick for a book cover because of the direction the series takes in this book. I usually say which character the cover model is supposed to be in the series, but in this case, I don’t want to spoil the book. You can probably figure out which character the photo stands for after you finish the book. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, which was why I released book #5 only a month later. The background images are the key that plays such a significant role in both this book and the next one, and also the seal with the Citadel’s symbol. Even though the symbol has been around since book 1, it didn’t show up on a book cover until this one. I posted about the symbol in a previous blog post . You can also read about the cover ch...
