If you’re new to my Lady Wynwood’s Spies series, welcome! This Christian historical fiction series blends the charm of a clean Regency romance with the excitement of espionage and mystery. You’ll find clever heroines, slow-burn romance, and twists of danger—all set in a faith-infused, richly detailed world.
For the cover of Lady Wynwood’s Spies, Volume 2: Berserker, I chose a model to represent one of my favorite characters—Mr. Septimus Ackett. He’s quiet, lean, and has a subtle intensity that made this Regency-era spy the perfect visual for this story. The model’s name is Andrey, and you can see the original stock photo here.
Why Septimus? While another character, Thorne, also has a major storyline in this book, I ultimately chose Sep for this cover—he has a rough time in this volume, and I wanted to highlight his journey. (Don’t worry, Thorne fans! He and Isabella are featured more prominently in a future book.)
Here’s the back cover description:
Part two in a Christian Regency suspense series with slow-burn romance and a supernatural twist
A dire situation
Mr. Solomon Drydale and his team are reeling. After only a single act of mayhem by underworld lord Apothecary Jack, one of their group is down and another is missing.
An urgent plea
Desperate, Sol acts on his forbidden knowledge of an agent for the Crown who is known only to the highest levels of government—le petit prince, master of disguises. He defies his superiors and asks the Prince for help.
A hazardous hunt
Now, the team must learn to work with a new member to save one of their own. But time is running out before Jack finds him and breaks him—and puts all of their lives at risk.
PLEASE NOTE: Like the novels published in Jane Austen’s time, this is a novel in multiple parts, projected to be 12 volumes. Each volume has a completed story arc, but this is NOT a stand-alone novel and the story continues in volume 3.
If you enjoy Regency intrigue, Christian suspense, and romantic chemistry wrapped in danger, you’ll love the Lady Wynwood’s Spies series. Start with Volume 1: Lady Wynwood’s Spies: Archer, where the story (and the secrets) begin.
