Libraries

Captain's Log, Stardate 03.11.2009

I’m up on the Love Inspired Authors blog with a post about libraries and what I did yesterday.

Camy Tang here, and at the time I’m writing this, I’m just back from an interview for a part-time library position.

Applying for the job was a no-brainer. I mean, what reader wouldn’t want to be surrounded by books for a few hours each day???

I work part-time at a public library and at a college library. We also have the on-line system and can get books transferred from branch to branch.

Some authors' books I will just buy (like yours), but for the rest I first see if the public library has it. If not, I try to get it through a network at the college library where I work. If that doesn't work, I try interlibrary loan where libraries across the US will loan books to my local library.

Best wishes on the library job!

Camy,
I am so jealous that you get to be around that many books ( I love the smell of them). In grade school as well as high school, I worked in the library.
Please enjoy it for me.

My very first job EVER was at the library when I was 14. I wasn't very good because when I would go to put books away they would look so good that I would start reading them. It was a small town and the library was in an old house, so there were lots of rooms and I was usually off in one of the corners sneaking a few pages of a book!
