I just finished writing Year of the Dog ! It had a massive plot hole that I had to fix which turned out to be more work than I expected. Here’s a snippet: “Hey, Auntie Nell.” He wrapped his arms around her, bussing her on the cheek and breathing in pikake flowers and shortbread cookies. And suddenly he was nine years old again, and her solid presence had made his chaotic world stable once more. “What are you doing here?” He usually took her to dinner on Wednesday nights, but today was Tuesday. The edges of her smile faltered a little before brightening right back up again. “What, I can’t visit my nephew?” She angled around him to enter his home. “Is this your new house? I’m continuing my Etsy.com raving today with another product I bought, grape lip balm from Pacific Paradise Soap.
For one, this stuff tastes yummy!
For another, look at this ingredient list:
Grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, candelilla wax, cocoa butter, coconut oil, shea butter, beeswax, concentrated Vitamin E, grape flavoring, Stevia.
I can pronounce everything on that list! I know what most of it is!
I’m pretty picky about my lip balms because I have a violent allergic reaction to most commercial lip balms (Burt’s Bees, Chapstick, you name it). There’s some ingredient in there that makes my lip swell like Angelina Jolie got stung by a few bees on her mouth. I have to get lip balms that are all natural or else it doesn’t look pretty, trust me.
So I was thrilled to find this, plus it tastes great! (I mean, I don’t literally eat it, but it smells good on my lip.)
Oh, and I got a free soap sample in my package! Isn’t that cool?
Sigh. I love Etsy.

In any case, I knew I read somewhere that we do eat our lipstick and I found an article that said the average woman eats about 6 pounds of lipstick in her lifetime (yuck).
