Sunday Prayer

Captain's Log, Stardate 04.20.2008

Leave any prayer requests in the comments and I’ll be praying this week. You don’t have to be Christian to leave a prayer request. If you’d rather not advertise to everyone on the blogosphere, just leave an unspoken prayer request or e-mail me. If I forgot your prayer request, email me. Not to be mean or anything, but if you don't email me or comment to update your prayer request, I'm only going to pray ONE Sunday.

I’m trying something new with my Sunday Prayer. I’m really bad about doing it on Sunday, so I’ll be updating it during the week.

Dear Lord, thank you for your mercy.

I pray for complete healing for Malia, Helen, Kristy, Colleen, and Sharon.

I lift up Case and his family to you.

Thank you for protecting Cheryl and her family. Please heal her completely and quickly, and ease her pain. I pray she will not need surgery.

Please heal Missy quickly, too. I pray she doesn’t need surgery, and that you ease her pain and help her with her teaching.

Be with Brad and his family. Be their strength and guide.

I also lift up Christa and her family to you. Orchestrate her writing career and be with her daughter, Sarah.

Help Melissa’s mom during her chemotherapy. Help her to eat more, and I pray for her healing.

Be with Anonymous’s friend Neil. Place your healing hand on him and give strength and support to him and his family and friends.

Please also keep ALP’s daughter in your hands.

Thank you for healing my hip and helping me finish one proposal. Please help me to finish the other two very quickly. Please provide for our family financially. Guide my life, open and close doors, and lead me into what you want me to do.

Amen.

I'd love prayer for a little boy named Cody who is dealing with water on the brain...only about 6 months old.

Also, my dear friend Deena who has had surgery.

Tabi socks, part deux

Captain's Log, Stardate 07.25.2008 (If you're on Ravelry, friend me! I'm camytang.) I made tabi socks again! (At the bottom of the pattern is the calculation for the toe split if you're not using the same weight yarn that I did for this pattern (fingering). I also give an example from when I used worsted weight yarn with this pattern.) I used Opal yarn, Petticoat colorway. Grace Livingston Hill romances free to read online

I wanted to update my old post on Grace Livingston Hill romances because now there are tons more options for you to be able to read her books for free online! I’m a huge Grace Livingston Hill fan. Granted, not all her books resonate with me, but there are a few that I absolutely love, like The Enchanted Barn and Crimson Roses . And the best part is that she wrote over 100 books and I haven’t yet read them all! When I have time, I like to dive into a new GLH novel. I like the fact that most of them are romances, and I especially appreciate that they all have strong Christian themes. Occasionally the Christian content is a little heavy-handed for my taste, but it’s so interesting to see what the Christian faith was like in the early part of the 20th century. These books are often Cinderella-type stories or A Little Princess (Frances Hodgson Burnett) type stories, which I love.
