I just finished writing Year of the Dog ! It had a massive plot hole that I had to fix which turned out to be more work than I expected. Here’s a snippet: “Hey, Auntie Nell.” He wrapped his arms around her, bussing her on the cheek and breathing in pikake flowers and shortbread cookies. And suddenly he was nine years old again, and her solid presence had made his chaotic world stable once more. “What are you doing here?” He usually took her to dinner on Wednesday nights, but today was Tuesday. The edges of her smile faltered a little before brightening right back up again. “What, I can’t visit my nephew?” She angled around him to enter his home. “Is this your new house? Looks lovely.” Which was a blatant lie, because the fixer-upper was barely livable, much less acceptable to a neat-freak like his aunt. One book that changed your life.
I actually have two:
A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey
They both opened new worlds to me and made me dream about writing my own.
One book that you have read more than once.
Persuasion by Jane Austen
One book you would want on a desert island.
The Bible
Two books that made you laugh.
Theodora’s Diary by Penny Culliford
SAHM I Am by Meredith Efken
One book that made you cry.
One book that made me both laugh and cry was Reconstructing Natalie by Laura Jensen Walker
One book you wish you'd written.
Any Harry Potter book. I mean, it’s so creative, with lots of conflict (but not too much) and terrific plotting.
One book you wish had never been written.
Shoot me if you want, but I can’t stand Wuthering Heights. I’ve tried several times to read this book—I even tried it on audio book once—and I simply can’t finish it. I don’t like any of the characters! Why should I suffer through this “classic” when I can’t stand any of the people in it?
Two books you are currently reading.
Her Unlikely Family by Missy Tippens
Skid by Rene Gutteridge (releases May 2008)
One book you've been meaning to read.
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See

And amen to the whole Wuthering Heights thing. I hated it (though I did actually finish it and believe me, you aren't missing anything if you quit halfway through).
