Sunday Prayer

Captain's Log, Stardate 05.07.2006

Leave any prayer requests in the comments and I’ll be praying this week. You don’t have to be Christian to leave a prayer request. If you’d rather not advertise to everyone on the blogosphere, just leave an unspoken prayer request or email me. If I forgot your prayer request, email me. Not to be mean or anything, but if you don't email me or comment to update your prayer request, I'm only going to pray 3 Sundays.

Thank you Lord, for your grace upon us all.

Comfort those who are grieving, Lord. Give them exactly what they need.

I pray Heather is writing a lot this weekend, and please give her a good time of refreshing.

Thank you that Pammer’s eyes are okay. That’s your hand over her, Lord. Please guide them in the purchase of the new truck—I pray it’s in perfect working condition.

I pray that Squirl’s surgery will go well and smoothly, and that her hip will be healed completely.

Continue to lead and guide Dineen in her writing. Help her to understand what she needs to continue to move forward in her manuscript.

I pray for justice for Robin and her family. Thank you for the new door that has opened for her. I pray she gets a contract soon.

Lift up Ronie in your arms and help her to feel peace. Give her strength and guidance. Help her as she prays.

Give Ron wisdom and strength.

Please fix Mir’s computer problems, and her health woes.

Give Sharon energy, strength and creativity to work on her new project.

Help Lori’s recovery go smoothly and quickly.

I pray for even more open doors for Gina’s writing.

Please convict Paula’s family’s client to pay his overdue bill. Continue to provide for them, and protect them from spiritual warfare.

I lift up Megan to you this week, and help her to endure and feel your joy.

Please heal Malia’s back and knee completely, and work everything out with her insurance.

Lead and guide Donna in her new projects.

Help Mok prepare for her exam, and continue to grow her in her writing.

Help Audra with her new baby and all the other things on her plate right now.

Be with RagamuffinDiva in her words this week.

Help Angie P. find her strength in you, and heal Pattie completely.

Give Lynette your love and wisdom in her writing.

Give Tiff love and trust in you in all aspects of her life.

Lord, please be with Janet. She's going through a really rough time. Lead and guide her and cover her with your peace.

Please help Tina, Mary C., Myra, Pam, Cheryl and Ruthy hear back soon about their manuscripts.

Please help Myra’s move go smoothly and quickly. Be with Missy in her new job, and give her strength. Continue to pursue Mariah. Please heal Tina’s son’s ankle quickly. Take care of Carolyn, her family, and their housing stresses. I pray for physical healing on all the SAYSFers.

Open up Dream’s heart to even more blessings from you.

I pray for your choice of publisher for Judy’s book.

Please cover Louise and her family with your powerful grace during this time.

Please help Katie’s brother Stephen recover smoothly and quickly from his shoulder surgery.

I lift up Angie A. and pray for healing and rest for her.

Give Eileen guidance and wisdom, to know the course of action you want her to take.

Keep your hand over Ane and her writing.

Help Becky to give you glory in her writing.

Continue to sustain Winter in her writing and the other things in her life, and give her abundant joy and blessings in you.

Thank you for Cathy’s request from an agent. Please continue to affirm her writing and help her to keep her eyes on your glory.

Heal Sigrun in both her body and her family. Help her to keep her spirits up and to trust completely, joyfully, thankfully in you.

Let your hand be over each of LaShaunda’s submissions.

Please heal Diana D.’s ankle completely and quickly, and help her to continue to trust in you and be filled with your love.

I pray for continued healing for Rose’s daughter.

Give strength to my friends married to non-believers this week.

Let your persecuted church bring you glory, Lord.

Thank you for the faithful prayers of my friends for me! Thank you for helping me to write more today, and continue to enable me to write and finish this manuscript. I can only do this by your power, Lord.

Cover us all with your love and power. Amen.

the tinnitis and allergies and other health issues still need prayer. Plus, prayer for me to do a wonderful, brilliant, logical, emotional, fabulous job of finishing up my plotting/synopsiszing/proposal-ing (though I'm not gonna win my category anyway....heh).

Hi Camy,

I have to tell you -- a girl sang Natalie Grant's song "Held" in church this morning. It was beautiful, and I immediately thought of your post. The message of that song is so powerful!

Prayer request: If you could pray for safe travels for my Mom, Dad, and brother when they leave for Israel on Tuesday. Also, prayers for my job -- there have been some tensions, I guess you could say. Thanks so much for letting me share. :)

I GOT A CONTRACT!

Captain’s Log, Stardate 03.29.2006 I had a wonderfully funny blog post planned for today, but I got sidetracked by some news yesterday! Zondervan has offered me a three-book contract on my Asian chick-lit series ! I’m still stunned by everything that’s happened. The series is actually a 4-book projected Asian chick-lit series about four cousins who fall under the infamous family title "Oldest Single Female Cousin," and their ruthless, wealthy grandma applies pressure on each of them to improve their lack of love interests. I think the first book is tentatively scheduled to be released in August 2007. The blurb on the series is on my website here . Brandilyn Collins posted to the ACFW loop about my writing journey, and Tamara Cooper asked that I share it. And since you all know how much I like to talk , here it is. ICRS Tuesday

Captain's Log, Stardate 07.11.2007 I started the day with a great meeting with Al Hsu , an editor at InterVarsity Press. We discussed Asian Americans—fiction, non-fiction, the church, family. He’s been in publishing for many years and is very wise. We had a great discussion. I also met his wife Ellen, who’s totally nice and is also into card-making! I wandered the floor and happened to meet Robin Jones Gunn. She asked if I’d eaten yet, and since I hadn’t, said to join her for lunch. On the way to lunch, we met Mark Mynheir, and he gave me a copy of his book, got The Void . Isn’t that cool? Robin has so much wisdom. I loved having lunch with her. She gave me such good advice, both professionally and spiritually. I hope I’ll get a chance to have lunch or dinner with her at the ACFW conference in September. I met up with agent Steve Laube, and walked with him to his next meeting, but on the way we were hailed by Cec Murphy and agent Jeff Dunn. Jeff had been the first editor to request...

Window shopping

Captain’s Log, Stardate 03.14.2005 Knee update: I went to the doctor today for a checkup, and saw his assistant. I’ve been concerned because there’s still inflammation in my knee joint, and it’s been almost 4 months since the surgery. She said she’d talk to the doctor about it tomorrow and call me. Sometimes he suggests laying off the PT to see if that causes the inflammation to go away, but I don’t know if that will work because lately I’ve been pretty active outside of PT. At PT today, the therapist did ultrasound and some sort of electrical current on the joint. Hopefully that will make the inflammation start to go down. I’ll know by tomorrow, probably. Writing: Mt. Hermon conference starts this Friday! On Thursday night, I’ll be at the Santana Row Borders bookstore to help out (and hopefully learn a bit, too) at a booksigning for several of the ACFW authors who are attending Mt. Hermon .
