Sunday Prayer

Captain’s Log, Stardate 04.30.2006

Leave any prayer requests in the comments and I’ll be praying this week. You don’t have to be Christian to leave a prayer request. If you’d rather not advertise to everyone on the blogosphere, just leave an unspoken prayer request or email me. If I forgot your prayer request, email me. Not to be mean or anything, but if you don't email me or comment to update your prayer request, I'm only going to pray 3 Sundays.

Thank you, Lord, for another day with you.

Please comfort those who are grieving. Cover them with your spirit and give them peace.

Thank you for fixing Heather's laptop and giving her a new client. I pray for a continual stream of business for her.

Please heal Pammer's eyes and give wisdom to her doctors and her about what to do.

Please heal Squirl's hip completely, and give her and her doctor's wisdom about her surgery.

Thank you that Dineen's daughter got into her program! Please lead and guide Dineen in her writing and any other new projects. Let her do your will alone.

I pray for justice for Robin and her family, Lord. Please provide for them and keep them together. Help her to revise her manuscript and continue to open doors for her.

Help Ronie finish her schoolwork and get all her other things done. Continue to encourage her and support her, Lord, even if the way seems dark.

Help Ron to finish his book.

Please heal Mir and take away her pains and aching. Give her energy and motivate her to finish her manuscript (Mir, have you finished yet?).

Please help Sharon during these low-energy writing times, and give her your strength.

Help Lori's surgery recovery continue smoothly, and help her body to vascularize her ACL quickly and completely.

Continue to open doors for Gina's writing, and give her fire and wisdom for her new projects.

Please convict Paula's family's client to pay his bill. In the meantime, provide for her family and protect them from spiritual warfare. Thank you for lifting them up.

Cover Megan with your peace this week, and help her in her writing.

Please heal Malia's back and knee completely. Give wisdom to the doctors, nurses and the insurance company, and help everything work out smoothly and quickly.

Give Donna your reassurance this week, and lead and guide her in her new projects.

Help Mok prepare for her exam, and continue to help her with her writing projects.

Help Audra to organize her time to care for her new baby and get everything else done.

Show RagamuffinDiva your love this week.

Give Angie P. strength and help this week, and heal Pattie completely.

Help Lynette as she writes, and let it be for your glory.

Help Tiff's mom heal smoothly, and help Tiff in her writing.

Please help Tina, Mary C., Myra, Pam, Cheryl and Ruthy hear back soon about their manuscripts.

Be with Missy in her new job. Touch Mariah's life with your power. Heal the various SAYSFers' sicknesses, aches and pains.

Continue to work in Dream's life and draw her ever closer to you.

Father, I lift up Angie A. to you and pray for healing. Please give her relief from her pain. Touch her with your hand, and continue to sustain her. Give her strength and rest.

I pray for your choice of publisher for Judy's book.

Be with Eileen, give her strength, patience and wisdom.

Continue to lead and guide Ane's writing career.

Continue to help and encourage Cathy in her writing.

Please heal Sigrun both in her body and with her family. Thank you for watching over her.

Help LaShaunda in her submissions, and keep your hand over each of them.

I pray for complete healing for Katie's brother from his shoulder surgery.

Be with Narelle on her trip, and also give her wisdom and everything she needs with her son.

Please heal Diana D.'s ankle wound quickly and completely, and help her to focus on her new writing project with the church.

I pray for continued healing for Rose's daughter.

Grant comfort to my friends with non-believing spouses this week.

Give strength to your persecuted church.

Please continue to help me to have discipline to do my exercises and help me to heal completely from knee surgery. Please give me discipline and power for my writing, and help me to finish on time.

Thanks so much, Camy. It's so comforting to know that there is someone out there praying for me. You are truly amazing. May the Lord bless you beyond measure for all that you mean in the lives of those you pray for.

I'm so happy for you, Pammer, that there has been improvement in your eyes. God is definitely awesome, isn't He? Sometimes He answers before we can ask for His help. And to be able to call him Father!

And, Dineen, I pray also for every worry you may have. May He bring you peace. Having peace is the greatest wish in my life overall, There are so many other things but peace would cover everything.

Camy,

Thanks so much for your prayers. It means so much to know that you're interceding for me. I know the Lord is with me and is still moving in my life.

Thank you so much Camy! It means a lot to know you're praying for me.

I'm thrilled you're done with PT. That's totally awesome. I know the recovery has been slow but I know it'll be complete in God's timing.

Have a great week.
Update on Stephen - he got his stitches out today and has a lower dose of pain meds. He still has a lot of pain, though, and won't be able to start using his shoulder for another four weeks.

Thanks for praying!

Toilet seat cover

Captain’s Log, Supplemental Update August 2008: I wrote up the pattern for this with "improvements"! Here's the link to my No Cold Bums toilet seat cover ! Okay, remember a few days ago I was complaining about the cold toilet seat in my bathroom? Well, I decided to knit a seat cover. Not a lid cover, but a seat cover. I went online and couldn’t find anything for the seat, just one pattern for the lid by Feminitz.com . However, I took her pattern for the inside edge of the lid cover and modified it to make a seat cover. Here it is! It’s really ugly stitch-wise because originally I made it too small and had to extend it a couple inches on each side. I figured I’d be the one staring at it, so who cared if the extension wasn’t perfectly invisible? I used acrylic yarn since, well, that’s what I had, and also because it’s easy to wash. I’ll probably have to wash this cover every week or so, but it’s easy to take off—I made ties which you can see near the back of the seat. And...

Cover Reveal + New Logo for Year of the Dog, a Mahina Security Novel

A New Look for Year of the Dog (and a Behind-the-Scenes Oops!) What do a dog trainer, a security expert, and a nearly-naked book cover have in common? Let me explain. 😅 Year of the Dog is the first book in my Christian romantic suspense series, Mahina Security, set in beautiful (and sometimes dangerous) Hawaii. It features quirky humor, family tensions, sweet romance, and a mystery involving a missing person—and it’s now available to read in the Christian suspense anthology, Danger in the Shadows , on Kindle Unlimited ! But before that happened, I had a bit of a cover mishap… While creating the ebook cover, I realized that the original stock photo made my heroine look, well, completely nekkid. 😳 She’s actually wearing a tube top in the image, but when I cropped it for the ebook, the top disappeared—leaving her looking very PG-13. To fix it, I did some Canva magic on a strappy top from another image and stuck it onto the model (so she’s decent now). But when I resize...

Favorite chocolate?

Captain's Log, Stardate 04.22.2008 Lately I’ve been on this chocolate kick. Normally, I’m not a huge chocoholic like Captain Caffeine. I enjoy chocolate, but if given a choice, I’ll usually choose a fruit or custard/creamy dessert over a triple decadence chocolate layer cake or a chocolate-lovers’ downfall brownie. But lately, I’ve been eating dark chocolate squares. I think it started when I went into Joseph Schmidt gourmet chocolate shop in Santana Row. We’d gotten Joseph Schmidt truffles for Christmas, and they’d been fabulous—I can honestly say that they were as good as DeBrand truffles (author Colleen Coble’s favorite). So when I saw the brick and mortar shop in Santana Row, I went in immediately. Inside, this man was buying up stacks—and I kid you not, stacks —of the Joseph Schmidt Belgian Dark Chocolate bars. He raved about them, said they were terrific. A cashier was restocking the display case the man had cleaned out, and I snagged a bar. “I’ve got to try one, after watc...
