Sunday Prayer

Captain's Log, Stardate 03.05.2006

Leave any prayer requests in the comments and I’ll be praying this week. You don’t have to be Christian to leave a prayer request. If you’d rather not advertise to everyone on the blogosphere, just leave an unspoken prayer request or email me. Not to be mean or anything, but if you don't email me or comment to update your prayer request, I'm only going to pray 3 Sundays.

Name above all names, we praise you.

Father, please comfort the grieving and give them the peace that only you can cover them with.

Give Christina the strength and guidance she needs as she finishes her time in Japan serving you. Thank you for her servant's heart.

Please be with Heather as she works through the things you spoke to her about. Give her courage and trust, and thank you for her desire to love you more.

Help Pammer overcome her fear, and thank you for how you've led her so far. Please continue to blanket her with your presence.

I pray for healing for Squirl's hip. Please give her and her doctors wisdom about what to do.

Keep your hedge of protection around the orphanages in India, Lord.

Continue to lead and guide Robin in her writing career.

Help Ronie as she prepares for the move, and be with her in the midst of all these changes.

Help Dineen to finish her projects and keep her focus on you, Lord.

Help Ron to balance his work, family, and writing projet ideas.

I pray for healing for Mir and energy to do what she needs to this week. Give her (and me) discipline in her writing and her health.

Give Sharon all that she needs to finish her manuscript. I pray for rest and peace on her body.

I pray that Lori's surgery goes smoothly and that recovery is also a piece of cake.

Please continue to heal Amber.

Lead Gina H. to the right editor, and continue to guide her writing to bring you glory.

Help Crystal know your will for her writing direction.

Lord, please provide for Paula and her family. Please motivate their clients to pay outstanding invoices.

Help Megan at her new job, and help her to make time for her writing.

Please help Malia to find favor with the insurance company so that they will pay for the treatments that have been helping her. Please heal her by your mighty power, Lord.

I pray for your hand over Darlene's friend's daughter, that she will find true rest and healing in you.

Energize Donna as she works to finish her book in the coming weeks.

Hover over Heather G. and help her to know you more.

Thank you for this new direction in Mok's life--I pray for your blessing and wisdom to rest on her.

Please continue to help Gail to heal smoothly, and I pray you will help Brenda's chemo treatments to go well. Please ease her discomfort, Lord, and I pray for healing for her body.

Give your comfort and peace to Margaret's friend, diagnosed with bone cancer.

Continue to help Donna C. as she recovers from heart stent surgery. Please patch up her tired body.

Continue to give RagamuffinDiva your guidance, peace, and power.

I lift up Angie--give her strength and energy, Father. Take any stress away and continue to help her remain smoke-free. I pray for complete healing for Pattie.

Continue to help Audra as she cares for her new baby. Thank you for this new life.

Help Lynette to write for you, especially as she works on new projects.

Lay your hand on all the projects LaShaunda sends out.

I pray you will help Tiff to craft her submissions and that they will find favor with the publisher who requested them.

Help Tina hear soon about her manuscript.

Continue to give Mary C. a great sense of humor and I pray for favor for her proposal in committee.

Give Missy peace, strength, and guidance. Provide for her family and help her to trust you wherever you lead her.

Keep your hand over Mariah's life and help her to find her way to you, Lord.

Give Dream your strength, power, and calm. Help her to continue to walk with you in joy and good humor.

I pray for Sigrun's sister-in-law's parents, that they will come to know you.

Please continue to help Zola's chemo go smoothly.

For my friends married to non-believers, grant them your wisdom this week.

I lift up your persecuted church, Father, and ask for your favor on them.

Please continue to help me to heal smoothly from surgery. Give me discipline in all these areas of my life, and help me to continue to persevere for you, Lord.

All will see how great is our God. Amen.

Bible in 90 Days: Day 53. God asked a LOT from poor Ezekiel. But he did it all without complaining, and I can't imagine how terrified he must have been by all these visions of the Lord's glory. The most profound image for me was the Lord's presence leaving the temple in Jerusalem. How astounding and humbling that Christ would enter the temple years later--the presence of God returned--and no one would recognize him.

Writing: Got a lot of great plot points done yesterday. The story's taking shape with more colors than it had before.

Diet: Did not so great yesterday--maybe 1600 or 1700--although I did stop eating around 9:20 pm (only 20 minutes late). I had a LOT of Greek food for lunch, but we're going for a walk this afternoon and I'll have vegetable soup for dinner.

I really appreciate the prayers. Amber Faith Elizabeth is a real sweetie pie, but we've been struggling with figuring out what I'm eating that makes her tummy cramp so bad. I need wisdom. :) Plus, my healing is going much slower than I'd like...patience was never my thing. :)

Thanks again for the prayers...it means a lot to know someone is praying.
Thank you so much for the prayers Camy. I so appreciate them. Love you!

Lena’s Diamond Shawl – A Free Knitting Pattern from a Regency Spy Novel

In my book, Lady Wynwood’s Spies, Volume 7: Spinster , my heroine Lena is recovering from sickness and uses her favorite shawl to keep warm. 🧵 Click here to download the FREE PDF of the pattern. Here’s the short excerpt from the book that mentions the shawl: 📖 Excerpt from Lady Wynwood’s Spies, Volume 7: Spinster Lena still felt a chill as she sat in the sunlight streaming through the window of the Viponds’ drawing room. She was swathed in her favorite lace shawl, a gift from Melinda, who had knit it in Lena’s favorite color, red, along with cream and pink stripes. Tabitha finished pouring the tea and handed her a cup. Lena tried to smile as she took it, but her face felt stiff, like hardened clay. She was an utter failure. Despite all her training as an agent, she’d been undone by a malicious woman and a locked balcony in the rain. Had she given up too quickly? She’d been deterred by the railing, believing it would have broken under her weight. She had also been shivering t...

I think I’ve got to get just the right plot, etc. bef...

Tabi socks, part deux

Captain's Log, Stardate 07.25.2008 (If you're on Ravelry, friend me! I'm camytang.) I made tabi socks again! (At the bottom of the pattern is the calculation for the toe split if you're not using the same weight yarn that I did for this pattern (fingering). I also give an example from when I used worsted weight yarn with this pattern.) I used Opal yarn, Petticoat colorway. It’s a finer yarn than my last pair of tabi socks, so I altered the pattern a bit. Okay, so here’s my first foray into giving a knitting pattern. Camy’s top-down Tabi Socks I’m assuming you already know the basics of knitting socks. If you’re a beginner, here are some great tutorials: Socks 101 How to Knit Socks The Sock Knitter’s Companion A video of turning the heel Sock Knitting Tips Yarn: I have used both fingering weight and worsted weight yarn with this pattern. You just change the number of cast on stitches according to your gauge and the circumference of your ankle. Th...
