I just finished writing Year of the Dog ! It had a massive plot hole that I had to fix which turned out to be more work than I expected. Here’s a snippet: “Hey, Auntie Nell.” He wrapped his arms around her, bussing her on the cheek and breathing in pikake flowers and shortbread cookies. And suddenly he was nine years old again, and her solid presence had made his chaotic world stable once more. “What are you doing here?” He usually took her to dinner on Wednesday nights, but today was Tuesday. The edges of her smile faltered a little before brightening right back up again. “What, I can’t visit my nephew?” She angled around him to enter his home. “Is this your new house? Looks lovely.” Which was a blatant lie, because the fixer-upper was barely livable, much less acceptable to a neat-freak like his aunt. She also left four matching pink and purple floral suitcases on the stoop behind her. Only then did Ashwin notice the cab driver standing slightly to the side of the walkway. “Can ...

My Thursday book giveaway (DIE BEFORE NIGHTFALL) is here.

Green: You know what I hated? I always forgot to wear green to school and got smacked and pinched ’til I was black and blue. Makes for a traumatic childhood.
I still don’t remember to wear green. Except now people are more mature and don’t chase after me, intent on physical abuse.
Besides, I eat enough green stuff, why do I need to wear it?
Bible in 90 Days: Day 64. Matthew is a very quick read. It’s very factual, almost like a journalist. “This is Matthew the ex-tax collector, reporting live from Palestine.”
Writing: Got a lot of brainstorming and plotting done last night. I’ll hopefully start on the scene outline tonight.
Diet: I had a grueling PT session today, but so far I’m at 700 calories and I haven’t eaten dinner yet.

Whenever I see someting green, I snap it up. But it has to be the right shade, not vomit green, or lime green. Kelley green is acceptable but a deep forest green would really make my day.
Okay, is that enough blathering to give you a brief diversion from your writing woes?
What is this message box thingy on the side of your blog? I don't know how these things work, they scare me...
By the way, did you see the offer at publishing contrarian? www.thepublishingcontrarian.com
I wear a lot of greens. I actually have three green coats all more olive colored. Also tops, skirts of all kinds. I love the earth colors including brown, orange, sienna, rust and an orangey red.
I wrote all this before but in a moment of absent-mindedness clicked on the x. Message gone.
I think that today is not one of my better days.
