Sunday prayer for my comrades

Captain's Log, Stardate 12.18.2005

Thanks to Mir for the coolio new word.

Anybody have prayer requests? Leave them in the comments and I’ll be praying this week.

You don’t have to be Christian to leave a prayer request. If you’d rather not advertise to everyone on the blogosphere, just leave an unspoken prayer request.

I did the worship set for my youth group last night and today my knee is throbbing, although it might be a combination of the standing last night and the torrential rains today. We're making Christmas presents today, too, so hopefully that will go well.

Lord God, thank you for today and this week of our lives. Thank you for the breath and life to praise you. Thank you for the fellowship of sharing in Christ's suffering that brings us closer to you

Be with Cheryl in India. Please continue to use her and the team for your glory, and protect her family while she's gone.

Be with Heather in her writing projects. Please help her to fight the spiritual warfare taking a crack at her abilities.

Please keep Pammer's car in working condition. Please also heal her tooth so it doesn't cause her discomfort.

Continue to be with Jules, and we pray the lumps are benign. (Pammer, do you have an update on her?)

Thank you for Robin's request for a full, and please continue to bless her writing. Please send Emily a Protector.

Help Gail continue to heal quickly and smoothly from surgery. Also be with her daughter Brenda during her chemotherapy sessions and recovery.

Please heal Dineen's jaw and continue to help her to write for you, without being discouraged or distracted by this season.

Please help Mir get over her writing hump, and heal her ears and left eye with the powerful touch of your hand. Give her energy during this time.

Continue to cover Paula with your wondrous hand as she writes. I pray her book proposal went out in perfect shape.

Help Mimi's book to fall into the right hands, and guide her husband to the ministry you desire for him.

Help Donna's next book be all yours, Lord.

I pray you will provide for Ronie and her family.

Please help Megan be productive with her time, and confident in your direction of her writing. Give her your affirmation, Lord, and provide her with a special crit partner.

Give Janice your peace during this time, and please provide for her and her girls.

Please continue to help me heal, and help me to rely on your strength for my discipline.

Cover us with your peace, Lord. Amen.

Camy, you're such a class act. I'll be praying for your knee and your upcoming contract!
Thank you, Camy-girl. You're awesome! Love and so appreciate you and your prayers.

This is cool. You may need a whole new blog site--"Blog-a-prayer." Pray for me, because I'm a male Christian writer surrounded by female Christian writers (though all are online).

Here's a praise. My LOGOs kids (Wed. night program) were AWESOME in their two play performances Sunday morning. Sometimes I think it's actually worth the headaches.

Update on Jules? She hurt her leg and at work the other day the chair they gave her to sit on (since she is on crutches and standing for ten hours is out of the question) dumped her and she sprained her wrists and shoulder to go with her banged up leg. They put her on partial disability and so that means she will go without pay for three days AND not get her holiday pay (she's worked here for about fifteen or more years)! Her hubby is also on diability due to a back surgery, so she is feeling a little down. Please pray for her.

You are such a doll.

I got my book today. Thank you!
Hugs,
Pammer

Lavender hand lotion

Captain's Log, Stardate 11.05.2009 I have to tell you, I LOVE Etsy.com ! Etsy is dedicated to providing a marketplace for people who like to make handmade products and people who appreciate them (and buy them). It has everything from handmade gifts (like my mom’s Bucilla Christmas stockings and ornaments and tree skirts and wall hangings and … well, just click here to see what she has! ) to soaps and lotions and jewelry and knitted items and hand-painted yarn and ... I could surf that website for DAYS. Anyway, lately I’ve been concerned about the lead content in my lotions, especially since I’m using them more now that it’s turned colder and drier here in California. I have to use lotion on my hands everytime after I wash them. So I went onto Etsy and searched for organic hand lotions, and bought this lavender lotion from Lue Cosmetics . What was really nice is that the owner, Jane, sent me a direct message via Etsy right after I made the purchase to ask if I’d received it yet and ...

I sold to Steeple Hill!

Captain's Log, Supplemental Remember that romantic suspense proposal I blogged about earlier? Well, it just sold to Steeple Hill’s Love Inspired Suspense line! I am so jazzed! I am beyond jazzed! The story’s working title is Sinister Spa The story's title is Deadly Intent and here’s a blurb (but it’s probably not what will appear on the back of the book): Massage therapist Naomi Grant could use a massage herself. With her father at home recovering from a stroke, Naomi is put in charge of the family’s elite day spa in Sonoma county. The new responsibilities sit awkwardly on her shoulders, and things only get worse when handsome Dr. Devon Knightley breezes into the spa, demanding to see one of the female clients. And the woman is found dead in Naomi’s massage room. Suddenly, Naomi is a suspect and her family’s spa is shut down. How could God let this awful thing happen? Devon only needed to see his ex-wife about a family necklace she still hadn’t returned, but when she dies and...

Brainstorm - character occupation

Captain's Log, Stardate 03.23.2009 Hey guys, I could use some help. In my current manuscript, The Year of the Dog , which is a humorous contemporary romance, I have a minor character, Eddie. He’s my heroine’s ex-boyfriend, and they’re on good terms with each other. He’s a bit irresponsible, but not so much so that he’s a complete loser. He’s got a very easy going attitude, he forgets to pay his bills sometimes, he’s friendly and charming. He’s adventurous and fun to be around, but he’s a little forgetful sometimes, and he tends to spend a little outside his income. I need an occupation for him. What would a charming, easy going, slightly irresponsible guy do for a living? He’s not too irresponsible, because otherwise readers will wonder what in the world my heroine saw in him to date him in the first place. She was attracted to his charm, his easy going attitude (her family’s uptight, and he was a nice contrast), and his adventurousness. But his forgetfulness and irresponsibility ...

Tabi socks, part deux

Captain's Log, Stardate 07.25.2008 (If you're on Ravelry, friend me! I'm camytang.) I made tabi socks again! (At the bottom of the pattern is the calculation for the toe split if you're not using the same weight yarn that I did for this pattern (fingering). I also give an example from when I used worsted weight yarn with this pattern.) I used Opal yarn, Petticoat colorway. It’s a finer yarn than my last pair of tabi socks, so I altered the pattern a bit. Okay, so here’s my first foray into giving a knitting pattern. Camy’s top-down Tabi Socks I’m assuming you already know the basics of knitting socks. If you’re a beginner, here are some great tutorials: Socks 101 How to Knit Socks The Sock Knitter’s Companion A video of turning the heel Sock Knitting Tips Yarn: I have used both fingering weight and worsted weight yarn with this pattern. You just change the number of cast on stitches according to your gauge and the circumference of your ankle. Th...
