Monday prayers

Captain's Log, Stardate 12.26.2005

Oops, I was too busy yesterday to do my Sunday prayers. My husband and I led music for worship at church, so we were up bright and early.

Anybody have prayer requests? Leave them in the comments and I’ll be praying this week. You don’t have to be Christian to leave a prayer request. If you’d rather not advertise to everyone on the blogosphere, just leave an unspoken prayer request.

Not to be mean or anything, but if you don't email me or comment to update your prayer request, I'm only going to pray 3 Sundays. I've got a couple fly-by prayer requests and a growing list.

Lord God, thank you for this opportunity to come before you. Thank you for Christmas, for this season to remember your love for us.

Please be with Squirl in India. Continue to bless and protect her.

Give Pammer your strength and peace this season, despite all her cares and worries. Please provide for her. Help the car continue to work well.

I pray Julie's lumps are benign--give wisdom to the doctors, and I pray for no delays or complications. Please heal her leg, shoulder and wrists, and help her husband's recovery go swiftly and smoothly. I pray against the spiritual warfare in her life, and ask you to cover her with your peace. Lift her spirits with an awareness of you watching over her.

Please be with Heather and protect her from spiritual warfare.

Give Dineen rest and peace. Rejuvenate her for the new year.

Bless Robin during this busy season. Provide Emily a protector, and grant her your peace.

Give Ronie more of you in all she does.

Help Ron continue to persevere in his writing.

Please lead Gina to the right agent, and continue to give her peace during the waiting.

Please give Crystal direction and affirmation for her writing.

Help Mir continue with her writing and push through. I pray for healing for her ears and her left eye. Please also infuse her with energy and focus.

Give Paula your peace and joy.

Please help Megan be more productive in her writing time. Please give her confidence and your direction and affirmation for her writing. I also pray you guide her to the right crit partners.

Please comfort Robyn during this time.

I lift up Lori to you and pray for whatever decision she needs to make with her ACL injury after the MRI in January.

Help Donna's next book be yours and not hers.

Help Gail continue to recover from knee surgery smoothly and quickly. Be also with her daughter Brenda during chemo, and I pray you will help treatments go smoothly with minimal discomfort.

Help Janice transition smoothly, and give her wisdom with her daughters. Please provide for her, Lord.

Please give Heather G. wisdom and guidance about her friendships and self-esteem, and please guide her to a good church.

Give wisdom to the doctors Malia goes to about her knee. Please heal her.

Help Yim recover smoothly and quickly from her wisdom teeth surgery.

Please help Mimi's manuscript be put in front of the publishers you desire, and guide her husband to the right ministry job.

Father, please heal Amber from her severe injuries. We lift her up to you. Please cover her with your power.

Please help me continue to heal from my surgery, and help me be productive and disciplined with my writing time.

Father, cover your people with your peace, courage, and love, wherever they are and whatever they face in your name.

Lord, you are holy. Amen.

Thanks a bunch, Camy. At least now my whole jaw doesn't feel as if an atomic bomb went off in it. Must be your prayer.:) Thanks again! Yim
Thanks, Camy-girl! I so appreciate your prayers. Praying for your healing too.

I would love prayers for direction in my writing for 2006. What agent? What editor? etc. Thank you!

Happy New Year!

Grace Livingston Hill romances free to read online

I wanted to update my old post on Grace Livingston Hill romances because now there are tons more options for you to be able to read her books for free online! I’m a huge Grace Livingston Hill fan. Granted, not all her books resonate with me, but there are a few that I absolutely love, like The Enchanted Barn and Crimson Roses . And the best part is that she wrote over 100 books and I haven’t yet read them all! When I have time, I like to dive into a new GLH novel. I like the fact that most of them are romances, and I especially appreciate that they all have strong Christian themes. Occasionally the Christian content is a little heavy-handed for my taste, but it’s so interesting to see what the Christian faith was like in the early part of the 20th century. These books are often Cinderella-type stories or A Little Princess (Frances Hodgson Burnett) type stories, which I love. And the best part is that they’re all set in the early 1900s, so the time period is absolutely fasci...

Pink Sunshine Shawl

Captain's Log, Stardate 01.06.2010 While in Arizona, I visited three knitting stores (all I had time and money for, unfortunately!) and bought this gorgeous yarn by Colinette. The model had this silk colorway with a pink mohair, which made it more pink than I wanted because I already have a very pink shawl and while I love pink, I wanted something both dramatic and different from, well, pink. So I paired this mostly pink silk colorway yarn with a greenish yellow mohair to get this gorgeous shawl that looks like pink sunshine! If you’re on Ravelry, you can see my more detailed notes here . Here’s the shawl! Isn’t it pretty? The mohair makes it very light and airy, while the silk gives it beautiful drape. I edged it with gold glass beads.

I am a bad aunt

So here’s what happened at Christmas: Captain Caffeine and I ordered our nieces’ and nephew’s gifts well before Christmas but because postage takes longer in December, we had the gifts mailed to where we would be staying over Christmas rather than to our house. We figured it would be safer than waiting to see if we’d get them in time before traveling. However, when I was doing the ordering, I made the mistake of having the gifts sent to MY name rather than the name of the person whose house we were staying at. Needless to say, the gifts were returned as “undeliverable” because the post office said that “Camy Tang” does not live at that address. Which I totally don’t get because we get mail addressed to other people at our address ALL the time. And so we showed up at Christmas and had no gifts for our nieces and nephew. Bad aunty and uncle. So now I am making sure we got refunded for the gifts that were returned as “undeliverable” and I’m reordering them to send them to our ni...
