Setting up my iPod

Captain's Log, Stardate 11.06.2005

I'm finally getting around to copying my CDs into my iPod. There are a LOT of CDs. The most important ones are the recorded workshops from the ACFW and RWA conferences this year. I'm so glad I bought them. I'm hoping to spend more time walking this week so I can listen to them.

Writing: Still revising the suspense. I'm trying to go about this logically, adding all the scenes for one thread first, then doing the same for the other thread. Problem is, my brain is rebelling. I zoomed straight to the ending chapters and added scenes from both threads there. All of my good, practical intentions--pffftt! Split like a banana.

I will continue revisions in a precise, logical manner. I will.

Yeah, okay...I hear you! LOL I do go back and add a layer at a time...setting/description, emotion, plot point "clues", etc. I found that my brain will only let me concentrate on one thing at a time.

Ha ha ha. I try to do revisions/rewrites logically and in an organized manner. Sidetrack city here! But the main point is to get there. Here's hoping we both do! :)

Hang in there. You are talented. I'm like Robin. I write the suspense first, and then the romance, and then the other stuff. Then of course my crit partners tell me to put some stinkin' description in there so I don't have talking heads, teehee (I know where they are, isn't that what counts?).

You will get it done and done well. You never do anything half way.

Tabi socks, part deux

Captain's Log, Stardate 07.25.2008 (If you're on Ravelry, friend me! I'm camytang.) I made tabi socks again! (At the bottom of the pattern is the calculation for the toe split if you're not using the same weight yarn that I did for this pattern (fingering). I also give an example from when I used worsted weight yarn with this pattern.) I used Opal yarn, Petticoat colorway. Grace Livingston Hill romances free to read online

I wanted to update my old post on Grace Livingston Hill romances because now there are tons more options for you to be able to read her books for free online! I’m a huge Grace Livingston Hill fan. Granted, not all her books resonate with me, but there are a few that I absolutely love, like The Enchanted Barn and Crimson Roses . And the best part is that she wrote over 100 books and I haven’t yet read them all! When I have time, I like to dive into a new GLH novel. I like the fact that most of them are romances, and I especially appreciate that they all have strong Christian themes. Occasionally the Christian content is a little heavy-handed for my taste, but it’s so interesting to see what the Christian faith was like in the early part of the 20th century. These books are often Cinderella-type stories or A Little Princess (Frances Hodgson Burnett) type stories, which I love. Captain's Log, Stardate 07.13.2007 My plane was leaving Atlanta at 4:45 pm, so I had a few hours to kill before heading over to the airport. I went and took some pictures of the ICRS floor: Here’s the Zondervan booth: On your way down to the conference floor, you have to use four elevators going down to the exhibit hall level. Zondervan made a huge banner for the 2nd elevator, and guess who’s on it with her name even bigger than Karen Kingsbury???
