I may have torn my ACL again

Captain’s Log, Stardate 09.02.2005

Dr. King said he thinks I might have torn it again. I need to schedule an MRI as soon as my new insurance (under my husband) is finalized.

Talk about depressing. But conversely, it’s good this happened while I’m not working, because then I don’t have to schedule the doctor’s appointments and things around my work, and I can go during off-hours to avoid the traffic.

I’ll need a miracle to not require surgery again. I’m dreading it because my last time was so horrific—the painful blistering, the nauseating side effects of the pain meds, the inconvenience of it all. My husband is concerned about the cost, especially now that I’m not working.

I have to trust God is over all this. It’s just hard to see His hand. I’m not too devastated by the loss of volleyball, though. I miss it, but I’m not as upset as I thought I’d be. Maybe because the writing has been so fulfilling, both emotionally and spiritually.

Diet: I’m trying to eat more naturally lately rather than using a lot of processed foods and chemicals. I don’t know if it will help overall health, but it’s worth a shot. But that means I have to be more careful with calorie intake. So let’s see how it goes. I haven’t been able to exercise since I injured myself, but hopefully I’ll be able to walk some this weekend.

Writing Goals for 2007

Captain’s Log, Supplemental I considered cheating on my goals for this year, but decided I was being a wimp. So here they are: Here are the goals required by my contract: Book 3 in the series marketing info sheet due March 15th Book 3 manuscript due June 1st Book 1 substantive/line edits due sometime in Jan/Feb Book 1 galleys due sometime after that Book 2 macro edits due sometime in Spring? Book 2 substantive/line edits due, I’m guessing in Summer. Book 3 macro edits due sometime in October, I’m guessing Dang, laid out like that, looks like I’ll be busy. Here are my personal writing goals: Long-term goals: --Complete two manuscripts and a novella by December 31st, 2007 (I have to write the two manuscripts, but I’m trying to push myself and write a third project. Tabi socks, part deux

Captain's Log, Stardate 07.25.2008 (If you're on Ravelry, friend me! I'm camytang.) I made tabi socks again! (At the bottom of the pattern is the calculation for the toe split if you're not using the same weight yarn that I did for this pattern (fingering). I also give an example from when I used worsted weight yarn with this pattern.) I used Opal yarn, Petticoat colorway.
