Kuro

Captain's Log, Stardate 05.22.2009 I have to admit, my parents’ black poodle, Kuro, is THE most high energy pooch I’ve ever seen! He even looks high energy when he's standing still! This dog has ADD. My dad made him his throne so he can look out the window. Which he does often, and he likes to bark and freak out when people walk past the house. We had a hard time making him stand still for a photo, CAN YOU TELL?????? "Huh? What? Toy? Where?"

Dad's hibiscus

Captain's Log, Stardate 05.20.2009 My dad’s been collecting lots of different colored hibiscus flowers, and several were in bloom while we were there. (Did I mention how my parents have the green thumbs and left me nothing but black ?) Here are a few! This one is gorgeous. The photo washes out the deep pink of the center. This one has white streaks in the color. You can kind of see it in the picture. Here's the full plant. This one's kind of big compared to the other hibiscus bushes because it's in the backyard. This yellow is so cheerful! PINK! PINK! PINK! This is my favorite. Can you tell why?

My parents' garden

Captain's Log, Stardate 05.19.2009 Captain Caffeine and I went to Hawaii for my dad’s 70th birthday! While there, I took some pictures of the plants growing in the backyard to show you guys! Isn't this cute????? A little pineapple!!! I'm not sure how long Dad has had this pineapple plant. They take YEARS to get one fruit. Don't know what this is, but it's pretty. Our orange tree has the sweetest oranges I've ever eaten. Seriously. There weren't many ripe ones on the tree while we were there, unfortunately. This flower is called a brownea, I think. I believe my grandfather got the tree as a sapling or whatever and now the tree's huge. It's not native to Hawaii, I think it's from Malaysia or somewhere around thereabouts. This is our lychee tree. The reddish parts are the flowers. In a few weeks, it'll be loaded with red fruit. I was really sad to miss the fresh lychee on my trip home. That's one thing I really miss. I totally took it for gr...

Sunday Prayer

Captain's Log, Stardate 05.17.2009 Leave any prayer requests in the comments and I’ll be praying this week. You don’t have to be Christian to leave a prayer request. If you’d rather not advertise to everyone on the blogosphere, just leave an unspoken prayer request or e-mail me. If I forgot your prayer request, email me. Not to be mean or anything, but if you don't email me or comment to update your prayer request, I'm only going to pray ONE Sunday. I’m trying something new with my Sunday Prayer. I’m really bad about doing it on Sunday , so I’ll be updating it during the week. Dear Lord, thank you for your grace. I pray for complete healing for B., Malia, Cheryl, Sharon, Juanita, and Lorna. I also lift up any of my blog readers in need of physical, emotional, or spiritual healing and pray you will touch them. I lift up Sasafras's home life--I pray for your peace in Sasafras in the midst of the chaos. Please also take care of their housing situation--I pray their house s...
