Captain’s Log, Stardate 02.02.2006
End of the Spear: I finally heard about the controversy. That’s really sad how misinformation can spread and how Christians can react with such judgment, but I’m also incredibly moved by the producer’s response. It’s obvious that they spent a lot of time in prayer—that it wasn’t just an emotional or business decision. This is taken directly from Brandilyn Collins:

Bible in 90 Days: Day 25. I finished 2nd Kings with the exile to Babylon—which is exciting since I had done an in-depth study of Daniel a few years ago. It’s kind of sobering how even the kings who pleased God either didn’t end in obedience or who didn’t think beyond themselves and their own lives. It reminds me how easy it is for me to be distracted from my own walk with God, whether because of laziness or other worldly factors. How can I keep strong? Many of the kings were given so much wealth and success—I’m hoping that reading their stories will help me learn from them.
Lord God, help me to always walk with You. I’m so weak and it would be so easy for me to fall away. Don’t let me forget Your goodness or take You for granted. Help me so that I can follow You without being distracted by any success You give to me. If it will take me from You, I don’t want it. I don’t want to have such a sad ending to my life like those kings of Judah. Help me so that I strive to please You and glorify You.
Writing: I was a slacker yesterday. I was supposed to work on my scene index and instead, I spent time reading book excerpts. But not today! I’ll work on that in the time I have today. I also have my San Jose writers group meeting tonight.
Diet: I had Tivo’d Denise Austin’s Fit and Lite exercise program and so I did that this morning. I feel great! It’s a pretty light workout, but just enough to make me sweat a little. It’s easy on my knees and a change from the exercise bike. I had soup for lunch (550). Hopefully I can eat light for dinner since we’ll have scones tonight at writers group.
