Sunday Prayer

Captain's Log, Stardate 05.21.2006

Leave any prayer requests in the comments and I’ll be praying this week. You don’t have to be Christian to leave a prayer request. If you’d rather not advertise to everyone on the blogosphere, just leave an unspoken prayer request or email me. If I forgot your prayer request, email me. Not to be mean or anything, but if you don't email me or comment to update your prayer request, I'm only going to pray 3 Sundays.

Thank you, Prayer Warrior.

I've been going back having a look at the blogs I missed. The arm is still not good but not as bad as it was. I've been trying not to type too much and that's why I skip the blogs. If I read them, I have the urge to comment.

I finally saw the one with your grandma and you. Both of you look beatiful. How wonderful for you that you could wear something antique and so meaningful for your wedding. Is that all embroidered or appliqué? You look radiant on a wonderful day. And your grandma's red dress is wonderful on her. I love red too. Can't wear pastels because I look totally washed out in them.

I'm praying that you'll get your ms. back and that it won't need many revisions. I'm really eager to see your book. God bless you and prepare the hearts of the readers so that they will get God's message to them through your words.

And thanks for your faithful prayers. I always go through the list prayerfully as I read all the woes and thanks. It's terrible when people don't pay their bills or have some other sort of injustice done to them.

As a mother wrote on another blog: how do you explain to your third-grader why she gets punished for doing something she didn't do while another child does that and doesn't get punished?

I guess we all have to learn early there is no real justice in the world. The little girl got physically ill. And if you think of all the problems in the world, I feel ill too. That's one reason I'm not upset about not having my TV connected.

Except for missing 24. Well, as long as my friend taped them all for me, I can still watch it.

Your own work is the worst to proofread. Of course I meant that you and your grandma look "beautiful".

I can see other inconsistencies there. I think I'm still not fully awake and the kid upstairs is running a race or something. Not conducive to freedom from stress and mistake-free writing.

Here’s the short excerpt from the book that mentions the shawl: 📖 Excerpt from Lady Wynwood’s Spies, Volume 7: Spinster Lena still felt a chill as she sat in the sunlight streaming through the window of the Viponds’ drawing room. She was swathed in her favorite lace shawl, a gift from Melinda, who had knit it in Lena’s favorite color, red, along with cream and pink stripes. Tabitha finished pouring the tea and handed her a cup. Lena tried to smile as she took it, but her face felt stiff, like hardened clay. She was an utter failure. Despite all her training as an agent, she’d been undone by a malicious woman and a locked balcony in the rain. Had she given up too quickly? She’d been deterred by the railing, believing it would have broken under her weight. She had also been shivering t...

Tabi socks, part deux

Captain's Log, Stardate 07.25.2008 (If you're on Ravelry, friend me! I'm camytang.) I made tabi socks again! (At the bottom of the pattern is the calculation for the toe split if you're not using the same weight yarn that I did for this pattern (fingering). I also give an example from when I used worsted weight yarn with this pattern.) I used Opal yarn, Petticoat colorway. It’s a finer yarn than my last pair of tabi socks, so I altered the pattern a bit. Okay, so here’s my first foray into giving a knitting pattern. Camy’s top-down Tabi Socks I’m assuming you already know the basics of knitting socks. If you’re a beginner, here are some great tutorials: Socks 101 How to Knit Socks The Sock Knitter’s Companion A video of turning the heel Sock Knitting Tips Yarn: I have used both fingering weight and worsted weight yarn with this pattern. You just change the number of cast on stitches according to your gauge and the circumference of your ankle. Th...
