Sunday Prayer

Captain's Log, Stardate 03.19.2006

Leave any prayer requests in the comments and I’ll be praying this week. You don’t have to be Christian to leave a prayer request. If you’d rather not advertise to everyone on the blogosphere, just leave an unspoken prayer request or email me. Not to be mean or anything, but if you don't email me or comment to update your prayer request, I'm only going to pray 3 Sundays.

Thank you, Lord, for another day to worship you.

Father, please comfort all those who are grieving with the incomprehensible comfort only you can give.

Continue to be with Christina as she prepares to come home from her missions trip.

I pray you will provide Heather with more clients, Lord.

Help Pammer continue to work for you and work through her fears.

Please heal Squirl's hip, and give wisdom to everyone involved so she can be free from pain. Thank you for her recent contest finals and also for the request for her manuscript. Please help her do revisions quickly.

I pray you will lead Robin’s writing to the right editor.

Help Ronie’s move go smoothly and safely.

Thank you for bringing Dineen back safely and help her get back into the rhythm of things.

Help Ron to balance his busy life, and lay your hand on his new writing project.

Heal Mir’s aches and pains, and give her energy for all she has to do.

Thank you for helping Sharon finish her manuscript. Please help her now to focus on her new project.

Help Lori’s surgery go smoothly, and I pray for a quick recovery.

Keep your hand over Gina H.’s projects, and be the one leading and guiding her career.

Give Paula your peace, and I pray their clients paid their overdue invoices.

Help Megan at her job to work for you, and help her to set aside time for her writing.

I pray for healing for Malia and that everything with the insurance will turn out well.

Give Donna energy and strength as she finishes her manuscript.

Be with Mok in her new job and help her to perform well.

Be with Audra and her new baby, and I pray you give her energy and strength.

Keep your hand over RagamuffinDiva.

I lift up Angie to you and pray you will continue to hold her and help her. Please heal Pattie.

Help Lynette to write for you.

I pray for smooth and quick recovery for Tiff’s mom.

Please help Tina, Mary C., Julie, Pam, and Ruthy (SAYSFers, did I miss anyone?)hear back quickly about their manuscripts.

Please help Myra’s house be sold quickly and smoothly. Help Tina move smoothly.

I lift up Missy’s father. Thank you for a clear scan, and I pray you keep him in good health.

Continue to lead and guide Mariah.

Give Dream peace this week.

Father, please be with Synner and her grammy. I pray the transition to assisted living is smooth for everyone.

Comfort Tiff and her family during this difficult time. I pray for healing for her mother.

Please give Linda peace amidst all the losses and family illnesses causing stress. I pray for healing for her grandson's heart and wisdom for the doctors. Please also comfort her daughter and the rest of the family as only you can.

I lift up Eileen and her mother. Please give them both rest.

Lord, only you can solve Sigrun’s complicated family problems. Please help her to hear you, what you want her to do or not do. Please help her to rest in you, that you are taking care of her and the situation.

I pray Rose’s daughter’s biopsy went well, and I pray it wasn’t cancerous. Grant peace and blessings to the family.

Please continue to help Zola heal. Help the chemotherapy go well.

Give strength to my friends married to non-believers this week.

Continue to strengthen your persecuted church.

Please continue to help me heal from surgery. Give me discipline in my writing, eating and exercise. Please also give me wisdom on how to adjust my chair so my back isn’t so sore.

How great is our God. Amen.

God moving: The pastor had a good question for the youth group last night—where did you see God moving in your life this week? A lot of times, I think we forget to look for him.

I’ve been hearing him speak to me through my Bible in 90 Days. It’s so great to read his word this way.

What a blessing to know you are praying. Some of our clients have payed, PTL! Please pray specifically that the one who owes us $2000 will quit playing with us and be faithful to his commitment. Thanks.

Also, please pray for my emotional strength and that God would lead my writing journey and show me how to be the mom my kids need. Blessings on you, Camy.

Here’s the short excerpt from the book that mentions the shawl: 📖 Excerpt from Lady Wynwood’s Spies, Volume 7: Spinster Lena still felt a chill as she sat in the sunlight streaming through the window of the Viponds’ drawing room. She was swathed in her favorite lace shawl, a gift from Melinda, who had knit it in Lena’s favorite color, red, along with cream and pink stripes. Tabitha finished pouring the tea and handed her a cup. Lena tried to smile as she took it, but her face felt stiff, like hardened clay. She was an utter failure. Despite all her training as an agent, she’d been undone by a malicious woman and a locked balcony in the rain. Had she given up too quickly? She’d been deterred by the railing, believing it would have broken under her weight. She had also been shivering t...

Tabi socks, part deux

Captain's Log, Stardate 07.25.2008 (If you're on Ravelry, friend me! I'm camytang.) I made tabi socks again! (At the bottom of the pattern is the calculation for the toe split if you're not using the same weight yarn that I did for this pattern (fingering). I also give an example from when I used worsted weight yarn with this pattern.) I used Opal yarn, Petticoat colorway. It’s a finer yarn than my last pair of tabi socks, so I altered the pattern a bit. Okay, so here’s my first foray into giving a knitting pattern. Camy’s top-down Tabi Socks I’m assuming you already know the basics of knitting socks. If you’re a beginner, here are some great tutorials: Socks 101 How to Knit Socks The Sock Knitter’s Companion A video of turning the heel Sock Knitting Tips Yarn: I have used both fingering weight and worsted weight yarn with this pattern. You just change the number of cast on stitches according to your gauge and the circumference of your ankle. Th...
