Feeling closer to God

Captain’s Log, Stardate 04.05.2005

I don’t know what it is that’s changed, but I feel like my fellowship with God is improving. I had a great time reading the last few chapters of the Gospel of Mark tonight--He is risen! He is risen indeed!

Okay, yeah, it’s a little late for that. But really, it’s never the wrong time to celebrate the resurrection, if only to remind myself that I’m risen with Him, too.

Writing: Yesterday around midnight I starting slamming away at the keyboard, I was so fired up. I finished a scene that I had forgotten to include in chapter 18 or something like that. The manuscript has its snarky moments, rather than being entirely serious. I just can’t keep myself from inserting sarcasm. The overall tone and atmosphere is serious, I think--I hope--since it’s dealing with a controversial topic, embryonic stem cells.

I think I will include a Stem Cell section in the Research page on my website for anyone interested in more information on stem cells. I think I will write a short article: Embryonic Stem Cells for the Biology-Challenged. Somebody remind me I should do all this or else I’ll forget.

I realized that because I’m not that sensitive a person, the suspense-Chicklit road might be best for me. I don’t always enjoy reading about the social nuances and personal angst of Chicklit heroines, I’d rather have more action and plot going on. Not that I even catch most social nuances at work and with the people around me, anyways.

Diet: I was really good at lunch, had a salad: rock shrimp, gorgonzola cheese, walnuts, and vinaigrette made with raspberry balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Plus half a grapefruit--I read recently that a compound in the grapefruit helps control insulin levels. I also went running with the dog. I almost didn’t go--I can’t believe how lazy I get when I’m sitting in front of the computer. I have to work on my discipline, since it seems I have none.

Writing Goals for 2007

Captain’s Log, Supplemental I considered cheating on my goals for this year, but decided I was being a wimp. So here they are: Here are the goals required by my contract: Book 3 in the series marketing info sheet due March 15th Book 3 manuscript due June 1st Book 1 substantive/line edits due sometime in Jan/Feb Book 1 galleys due sometime after that Book 2 macro edits due sometime in Spring? Book 2 substantive/line edits due, I’m guessing in Summer. Book 3 macro edits due sometime in October, I’m guessing Dang, laid out like that, looks like I’ll be busy. Tabi socks, part deux

Captain's Log, Stardate 07.25.2008 (If you're on Ravelry, friend me! I'm camytang.) I made tabi socks again! (At the bottom of the pattern is the calculation for the toe split if you're not using the same weight yarn that I did for this pattern (fingering).
